Daddy ended his life last night
At least in a manner of speaking
Now he sits all the day, his head in his hands
He can still feel her linger, he feels her linger

It's been awhile since he gave up the fight
Succumbing to his fatal weakness
Now the ghost of my mama spins around me
Makes my head hurt from sleeping - it hurts from sleeping

Mama kept the bible under a box near her bed
She'd read out to her children
The terror and light it shed
But the last time I saw her
She left in the night

I feel closer to him tonight 'cause I too possess a fatal weakness
And the book near her bed lays still and unread
Will she ever forgive him? (3x)
