We have no hope

Self- respect at all
Why policy picks us up
And call us suspects

Our heads are held
Deep down in shame
Cause no one really cares
That we're pawns
Have you guessed
Who we are, no, not yet
We're the homeless
The unemployed
Have we ever met
When we ask for help
You just call us beggars or worse
We have families to take care of
For understanding we thirst
We're not asking for hand outs
We just want jobs to pay
But you hate that we exist
And turn away
We get the short end of the stick
And slip through your cracks
You slap us in the face
And turn your back
