I gave my heart, to search for wisdom,
In the earth, and in the heavens.
Started every word that was done,
Everything that lived, under the sun.

All the world has come to hear me.
See the path of life more clearly.
Bringing all their treasures to me.
All the world is laid before my feet.

All is vanity...

If all, the fountains of the earth,
Could make their cause to me,
Still in thirst, my soul would be.
All is vanity...

The world has never wittnessed such things.
Kings and Queens my wisdom seeking.
All the daughters of the princes,
Stand before the pleasure of the King.

All is vanity.

Now alas, my hope is dying,
All life's pleasures, left me crying.
And one's joy in life is learning,
To fear God, and love him, all his life.

If all, the fountains of the earth,
