I woke up this morning, with a smile on my face
I threw out those stones, that stood in my way
And I put on a new pair, of hard walking shoes

When the talking on the TV tells me I should be scared
I don't let it overwhelm me, I know that joy will be there

I go to the corner, and buy me a drink
I say to the man, this shit helps me think

A dead woman walking, maybe he's right
I sure hope he ain't right

And when the preacher on the TV tells me I should be scared
